Beginning on Monday, April 15th, Catawba students will become immersed in the CatawbaPalooza atmosphere. You may be asking yourself, “What kind of atmosphere will that be exactly?” Each year CatawbaPalooza is based around a specific theme and this year the theme will be “Under the Big Top.”

The student center will be transformed into a huge three-ring circus tent before the week begins. There will be daily give-a-ways such as sunglasses, lanyards, and magnets.  Every evening of the week there will be decathlon events for all students to participate in and compete for t-shirts. Also, there will be nightly events such as the infamous Helen Foil Beard’s Womanless Beauty Pageant along with the Friday night luau sponsored by DAS and Delphi.

On the actual day of CatawbaPalooza, Saturday, April 20th, students will receive another free give-away upon checking in at the festival. After being admitted into CatawbaPalooza, students can indulge in tons of free food. There will be a cookout provided by the men of Philo and DAS along with Frost Bites, the Mr. Cone Ice Cream Truck, kettle corn, and roasted peanuts. Along with the plethora of food to be offered, there will also be several carnival rides for all students to ride all day long. A DJ will be playing music throughout the entire day and there will be competitions where students can play to win big prizes. CatawbaPalooza will begin at 1pm and end at 6pm. The event is open to all Catawba students, just be sure to bring your ID to all of the events.

Keep an eye out for posters, e-mails, and displays in the student center for a more detailed schedule of events.
