How To Keep That Spring Break Tan

Yes, it’s that time of year again. Students come back from their Spring Break with their bikini-shaped tan lines and sun kissed faces. But when the sun fades away, so does the bronze you might have. Your skin starts to peel like a snake and so does your color. So how do you keep this tan? Moisturize! The best way to keep your skin beautifully bronzed is to hydrate your skin. These are the top five products that will help you keep your tan longer.

Hawaiian TropicHawaiian Tropic’s After Sun Body Butter: This product is infused with nourishing ingredients such as Aloe Vera and Cocoa, Shea, and Mango butters. It hydrates your skin and has vitamins to help enrich your tan. Like all Hawaiian Tropic products, it also smells delicious and will keep you smelling “island kissed” all day long. You can pick up a can of this Body Butter for about $8.00 dollars.

Skin-So-SoftAvon’s Skin-So-Soft: I personally use this product to keep my skin from peeling off. I recommend the original Skin-So-Soft. It’s an oil-based lotion that leaves skin soft to the touch. You can order this product for about $2.00 dollars.Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera: You know that green gel that you apply after you get sunburned to relieve your skin? Well, it works just as well to keep your tan! My best advice: put it in the refrigerator before you put it on. It’ll feel so refreshing when you apply it on your skin.  Prices range from about $4.00 dollars to about $9.00 dollars, depending on the brand.

Bath & Body WorksBath & Body Works Body Butter: I personally love all of Bath & Body Works’ products, but their body butter works wonders. It’s thick coating helps moisturize your skin and locks it in all day long. Unlike other moisturizes, which have to be reapplied throughout the day, their product helps heal skin and keep you tan. I recommend Passport Tahiti. It infuses coconut and bamboo scents and leaves you looking like you just got back from the beach.  The price is about $16.00 dollars.

VaselineVaseline: Yes, good old Vaseline is one of the oldest tricks in the book to keep your skin moisturized and glowing. My roommate struggles with eczema, and the only solution to her itchy skin is Vaseline. I recommend their new lotion product, Total Moisture. Total Moisture Lotion is a multi-vitamin moisturizer. It replenishes 100% of daily hydration, along with the essential nutrients that skin needs to be vibrant and feel healthy every day. The price is about $6.00.

You can pick up any of these products at your local convenience stores, or you can always order online. Your skin may be fried and damaged from the sun. Yes, you love the way you look, but keep your skin happy and healthy and moisturize!
