Looking for a wild ride to help get rid of all that end-of-semester stress? Carowinds may have exactly what you’re looking for. This spring is the debut of the amusement park’s new roller coaster, the Intimidator (named in honor of NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt). This roller coaster is now the tallest and fastest in the Southeast, costing over $23 million to create.
At its highest point, the Intimidator reaches 23 stories high with the first drop off 211 feet down. The ride goes up to 75 miles per hour at some places and lasts for more than three minutes. The trains are designed to resemble Dale Earnhardt’s 1998 RCR No. 3 Chevrolet Monte Carlo with open air seats that allows full experience of the twists, drops, and spirals throughout the 5,316 foot track.
So for those of you who enjoy the fast thrill of Carowinds’ rides, this one should top them all. After all the projects, papers, and exams are finally over, head up to Carowinds to experience what is expected to be one of the most aggressive and exciting rides on this side of the country.

I am SO excited about this! Thanks, Leslie!
