Located in nearby Albemarle, North Carolina, the Badin Road Drive-In provides an experience that is becoming hard to find. Drive-ins have mostly disappeared, being replaced by indoor theaters. But the Badin Road Drive-In is still up and running and providing a great experience for anyone who visits.
The Drive-In shows the most current movies, so no need to fret that you’ll have to wait to see your favorite movie if you want to experience the Drive-In feel. Last weekend, Catching Fire and Ender’s Game were playing on Screen A, while Screen B showed Thor and Last Vegas.
It is suggested to use your own radio in the car, but they also have radios for rent if need be. The radio allows you to listen to the movie at the loudness that is most comfortable for you and enjoy the sounds while watching the movie on the outdoor big screen. The atmosphere created by the big screen, the radio turned up, and cars all around is amazing. It truly takes guests back to the times where Drive-Ins were the popular mode of entertainment.
In addition to radio rentals, they also have a plentiful concession stand and clean bathrooms for guests’ convenience.
Children of all ages are welcome, and there is even a playground where kids can play until the movies begin.
The Drive-In is seasonally open most Friday and Saturday nights with double features and some Sundays with a single feature.
At only $6 per adult, the Drive-In is a steal, as you get two movies for the price of less than one at a modern movie theater. So if you’re looking for a fun, unique way to see a movie, head on over to the Badin Road Drive-In. You will not be disappointed!
