Field Hockey Upsets #3 East Stroudsburg

Catawba’s Field Hockey team took on #3 East Stroudsburg, on Monday, October 19th at 3:30pm, at East Stroudsburg, Pa. The Warriors were able to get on the board first, with a goal in the first half of the game. Freshman, Jillian Parisi answered back with a goal in the second half, which was assisted by sophomore, Samantha Santoli. With 50 seconds remaining in the game, Junior Kaitlin Foster received a yellow card, leaving the Indians down a player for 5 minutes. The Indians started overtime a player down, and 3 minutes into the overtime, sophomore Samantha Santoli scored the winning goal.

The Warriors had a 39-6 edge on shots. Indian’s Keeper, Bronwen Gainsford made 21 saves for the day. The Lady Indians will be home on Saturday, October 24th for their season’s final game. The Indians will play the Limestone Saints at 11am. Come out and support the Field Hockey Team!!
