Dr. W Craig Turner and Dennis Davidson, Catawba College athletic director, have announced that the school will be adding Women’s Lacrosse to its list of sports in the 2011-2012 school year.

When lacrosse is added the women’s athletic program will have nine varsity women’s sports including softball, soccer, basketball, gof, swimming, tennis, volleyball,  and cross country.

The women’s lacrosse program will begin as an independent, but will hopefully receive some scheduling opportunities with the Conference Carolinas, which already includes 8 women’s lacrosse teams.

Catawba is currently searching for a coach to head up the women’s lacrosse team.
