Senior Night: Volleyball

Catawba volleyball had their senior night on November 3, 2012. The girls recognized were Jenny Young, Carson Brewer, Kaitlyn Whitmer, Denise Grissom, Jordan Raye, and Alli Parrish.

Number 1, Jenny Young, a graduate from Patrick Henry High School in Roanoke, Virginia, assisted the Lady Indians on their way to a win against the Newberry Wolves with 31 digs and one assist.  So far in her career at Catawba, Young has 2,177 kills, 178 assists, and 31 kills.  Young is now the number 1 holder for highest digs in a career at Catawba College.

Carson Brewer, number 3, who starred at Middle Creek High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, helped the Indians with 17 kills, 16 digs, and two assists. Brewer’s career includes 183 kills, 172 digs, and 12 assists.

Number 7, Kaitlyn Whitmer, who graduated from Franklin County High School in Ferrum, Virginia, accompanied the Lady Indians with 21 kills, 14 digs, and 1 assist.  Her career at Catawba has consisted of 1,408 kills, 1,141 digs, and 135 assists.

Denise Grissom, number 10, a graduate from Rockingham County High School in Stokesdale, North Carolina, assisted the Lady Indians with one dig.  So far in her career here at Catawba, she has had 261 digs, 29 assists, and seven kills.

Number 11, Jordan Raye, who graduated from Starmount High School in Boonville, North Carolina, had 37 assists, 15 digs, and six kills.  Raye’s career includes 2,661 assists, 821 digs, and 436 kills.

Alli Parrish, number 22, who starred at Smithfield-Selma High School in Zebulon, North Carolina, accompanied the Lady Indians with nine digs, seven assists, and three kills.  Her career at Catawba has consisted of 589 digs, 558 assists, and 518 kills.
