On Saturday, March 23, the Catawba men’s lacrosse team went up against opponent, Mars Hill. After a long and hard fight, Catawba fell by a score of 10 to 12.
The teams were going back and forth at the beginning of the game and it was a pretty even match with a score of 5 to 5 at half time.
At the beginning of the third quarter, the Indians came out ready to fight and play hard, but they came up short when the score came to 8-6, Mars Hill. Catawba didn’t give up though and came out in the fourth quarter ready to battle.
Halfway through the fourth quarter, Mars Hill led with a score of 11 to 7. Catawba, not behind by much and with the fans cheering them on, tried their best to catch up. After a hard game, Mars Hill walked out with a win under their belts, leaving the Indians sad and disappointed.
Scorers for Catawba included John Scheich, Steven Ridolfo, Adam Hebert, Tom Cullop, and Corey Losselyong. Goal tending was a joint effort from Pete Wesselmen and Christian Klimcyzk. The Indians face Florida Southern at home this Thursday, March 28th at 4:00 p.m.
