A Snow Storm Hits Catawba College!

On Friday, January 29, 2010 the small town of Salisbury, NC along with most of Southern North Carolina was hit with a snow storm!
Snowball fights ensued, as well as the making of various snow men and families. By 10 pm on Friday, the ground was barely visible under the already 2 inches of snow!
By Saturday Morning (while it was STILL snowing), it had reached in some places 6 inches. Now, for all of our friends from the North, this may seem very trivial; however, for some of us who have always lived in the South (like me!), this was a momentous occasion. And not to mention, it wasn’t melting!
After finally stopping sometime Saturday afternoon, the snow became icy, and 2 days later on Monday, classes were canceled. To which the students were terribly distraught over, with almost everyone announcing via their Facebook statuses that there was no school. Can’t you just feel their pain?
And today, Tuesday, when classes resumed, there is still a snowy/icy layer that has not left our sidewalks and grassy areas.
So. from one person who has slipped and fallen on their backsides to another, be careful where you walk as you go to your classes.
Oh, and P.S.: weather.com tells us that it’s just going to have a “Wintery Mix” hit us sometime on Friday!

The snow sure was exciting . . . “The Elements of Style” might be a good book to curl up with when weather is forbidding.
