This past Sunday, February 7th, was not only the most viewed Super Bowl event in NFL history. It was also the date of the Delphinian Society’s Princess Party! The Delphi officers were dressed as Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Ariel, and the other girls were any princess of their choice. The Delphi girls wanted to give back and inspire the “little princesses” who came to the party, and the older girls enjoyed it just as much!
The little princesses filed into the Hurley Room with their parents at 2:00 P.M. As they entered through the glass doors. Little did they know, they would be entering into a fairy tale. Snow White, (senior Dana Dolbow), bounced from little girl to little girl welcoming them to the party, and led them over to take a picture with the whole group of princesses. After the picture was taken, the little girls were led into the Hurley room for fun activities.
The other Delphi girls were in charge of making sure the little princesses were having a good time. There were nail painting tables, cookie decorating, picture frame decorating, stuff a bear and coloring pages. Many of the Delphi girls made special bonds with the little princesses and led them from table to table, acting like a friend instead of a worker. They talked with the girls and helped them with their prizes. The Disney princess characters walked around talking with the little princesses and handing out homemade tiara-shaped rice crispy treats.

Sophomore Sarah Mosier made a special bond with one little girl. “I saw this one little girl sitting alone on a chair. I ran over to here and asked her what her name was. She said her name was Hailey and her mom dropped her off and she’ll be back to pick her up. I took her under my wing and became her buddy for the day. We made cookies together and talked about her favorite things. It made me feel so good that she was happy to be with me. She constantly had a smile on her face, which made me smile too.”
Not only was the event held to reach out to the community but it was also a fundraiser for the Delphinian Society. The girls made a great profit! As the day sadly came to an end, the little princesses said farewell to the princesses and left with their prizes. Each of the little princesses left with a princess cup, candy jewelry, a printed photo and the items they made during the day.
Overall, everyone had a wonderful time. The little girls left with lasting memories, and the Delphi girls will never forget this event. I’ll quote one parent, “Dreams really do come true, and it was truly a special day.” This will definitely be an annual event that the Delphi girls will continue for years to come.

Nurse Kathi's granddaughter, Kate, talked about the Princess Party for weeks!
