Keppel Auditorium was full of sighs of relief and proud family members on May 15, 2010. On this day Catawba College held its Graduation ceremonies with a total of 276 students receiving their diplomas. With the students’ hard work and determination, they made it to the end and proudly wore their caps and gowns for everyone to see.
The week leading up to Graduation was full of senior activities and bittersweet goodbyes. I personally had to say goodbye to 2 of my very best friends who chose to graduate in 3 years instead of 4. The times we had and the memories we made together will remain a part of me forever.
As the graduates move on from Catawba and enter into the “real world” we can only wish them luck in their future endeavors. The faculty and staff have done their best to prepare the students for life after college. Now it is up to graduates to make their dreams for the future come true. These students have left a legacy here at Catawba College and now it is time for them to take the world by storm and begin a new legacy. The Pioneer staff would like to send out special congratulations to all the graduating members. Thank you for helping to make the Pioneer better than ever. You were the class that pushed for the online version of the paper, and for that you will never be forgotten. Congratulations to Aly Halter, Jen Trout, Leslie Denton, Lee Anne Rutherford, Amanda Sowards, Justin Weller, Kyle Thortsen and Travis McSweeney. You forever changed the Pioneer, and we will always be thankful for your legacy.
You will all be truly missed here at Catawba, but as my good friend Emily Lewis said “It’s not goodbye, it’s just see you later.”
