It was an up and down Spring Break for Catawba sports across the board.  While baseball, softball and men’s and women’s tennis both excelled over the past week, men’s lacrosse couldn’t seem to catch any breaks.

Baseball put on the best overall performance over break, posting a 6-1 record, with the lone loss coming against USC Aiken. They will look to continue their hot streak at Wingate today.

Softball went 5-3 over break, with impressive wins in multiple close games.  Carley Tysinger managed to pitch a no-hitter aginst North Greenville, but due to multiple errors, the girls lost, 1-0.  They will resume play this Saturday at home against Anderson.

Men’s tennis put together a 5-1 record, with wins over Carson-Newman, St. John Fisher, Tennessee Wesleyan, as well as others.

Women’s tennis wasn’t too far behind the men with a 4-1 record, with the only loss coming against Mount Olive.  Their next match is on March 14th at home when they welcome Wingate.

Women’s lacrosse also picked up their first win of the season, with a 19-4 blowout victory over Siena Heights. They will be at Mount Olive on March 14th for their next contest.

However, men’s lacrosse has struggled mightily of late, losing all three of their matches over break and their last four overall. Their next game will be at Queens on March 13th.
