Almost every Tuesday night of the school year, the Omwake-Dearborn Chapel hosts a biblical service at 9 o’clock at night. This service acts as a typical Sunday morning service except for the fact that it is on Tuesday nights because, let’s be honest, what percentage of college students wake up early on Sunday mornings? Not many. Reverend Dr. Clapp, who also happens to be vice president of the college, leads the services and delivers the message for that evening. Sometimes students with a major or minor in religion lead services with fun activities that help you learn more about yourself and get you a new perspective on life. Also, local churches around the area sometimes come to deliver a message and bring snacks for after the service, which is always a big hit for the students.

Chapel services are generally non-denominational, however, they lean towards the schools United Church of Christ founding. Any student who wants can volunteer to read scripture or help sing with the Chapel Scholars. The Scholars of the Chapel help lead worship songs and also perform every Tuesday evening. Anyone who wishes to join simply has to show up an hour early (8PM) on Tuesday nights to learn the songs for that evening. Sadly, the last chapel service for this school year will be this coming Tuesday, the 28th of April, but anyone who has always wanted to go to chapel or has only been once or twice should come out and take a break from the stress of impending exams and focus on the good news.
