It was a cold night at the Frock Field Saturday night as the Catawba Men’s Soccer team hosted the Coker Cobras. The fan base was extremely strong and the Catawba community was more than pumped cheering on our Indians. The intensity of this game was at an all time high as the men battled for a total of 120 minutes.

The men currently stand at 2-7-1 in their season and 0-4-1 in the South Atlantic Conference. Both teams each had a total of nine shots on goal by the end of the game. The Indians and Cobras were determined to score to come out of the 0-0 tie.

After the 90 minutes, the men continued to play in the first overtime without any chances of coming close to scoring. In the final overtime duration, the Indians came extremely close in putting the ball in the back of the net. The first chance was in the 115th minute, when a foul was called on Coker. Jack Pettett took the penalty kick but was saved by Kyndle Cobb. In the 117th minute, Brian Woulfe had a second opportunity from outside the box and Cobb had another save.

The men travel to Queens University on Wednesday in Charlotte to face another conference game against the Royals. The Indians next home game is October 15th vs. Concord University at 5 p.m. Come out and support!
