The time of year is upon us once again when the chilly air starts to replace the hot summer sun. Leaves start to fall, Pumpkin Spice flavoring becomes a top seller in stores, and football is in full swing. Yes, fall has arrived right on schedule.

Although there are numerous fall festivals to attend before winter comes, there is one in particular that remains a favorite of Rowan County. This week from September 19th to 27th, the Rowan County Fair will be open for all to enjoy during the evenings, for the reasonable admission price of $7. There’s something about the bright lights of the amusement rides, the barking of the vendors, and the countless number of places to get the greasy but tasty fair food.

Agriculture and farming have their place at the fair, too, with livestock to be seen and petted, as well as the cream of the crop- literally- that awaits the judges’ blue ribbon. Whether you go to ride every single ride, eat your stomachs’ content of cotton candy, or just spend time with friends, the Rowan County Fair is an awesome way to spend a relaxing night following a long day of classes.

Just head south from downtown Salisbury on Interstate 85 until reaching Exit 74 (Julian Road), turn right and keep going straight until you reach the fairgrounds. The Catawba Pioneer will be proudly covering the fair, so come one, come all, to a promising night at the Rowan County Fair!
