Humans are not machines. Humans are not stiff and unyielding. Humans are a mass of muscles and joints that are made to move effortlessly, easily, and gracefully. But many foods won’t let your body enjoy that free play. Some foods restrict it at every turn and limit its full potential, suppressing your body’s natural impulse to get up and go.

According to Dr. William Sears, founder of The Dr. Sear’s Wellness Institute, today nearly 50% of all Americans are approaching obesity. For College students, away from Mom’s healthy home cooking, these high numbers are more than likely due to convenience and cost, both of which are highly important to college students. Convenience meals have been proven to be some of the unhealthiest meals to eat. Also, most are questioned for their actual food content.

No worries though, right? You’re young, resilient, and you want to make the right choices. Well, if you are still worried, Dr. Sears developed a convenience food formula that can be used by busy college students.

It is called the rule of 3-6-3. Nutritional facts, “the labels,” are your guide. Choose convenience foods with: at least 3-grams of fiber, less than 6-grams of sugar, and at least 3 grams of protein.

And that’s it! Quick and easy to remember!
