Have you ever struggled to get a ride? How do you make it downtown or even to the airport? I’m here to give you some suggestions about how you can make it around the town.

My first go to option would be to always ask a friend on campus. Sometimes offering people gas money is a nice way of giving them an incentive to drive you somewhere. After all, we are college students with low budgets!

If that doesn’t work, there’s always public transportation. The City of Salisbury Public Transit can get you to nearby towns of Spencer or East Spencer. For one-way trips, the regular adult fare is typically $1.20. The hours of operation are 6:15 a.m. to 6:45 p.m Monday through Friday, and 8:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Taxi Services like Safety Taxi and Latino Express are available 24/7 and are extremely well known services in the Salisbury, N.C. area, especially for college students.

Two other recommendations I have are Amtrak Train Rides as well as Historic Salisbury Trolley Tours. The closest station to Catawba is right on Depot Street and is only 2.3 miles from campus (5 minutes). The Trolley runs from April through October on Saturdays, starting at 11 a.m.

So don’t get left behind with the excuse of “not having a ride.” There are several alternatives to get you from point A to point B. All these services are exceptional and will get you to your destination in no time!
