  1. Take time to catch up on studying!  This past week the snowpocalypse, as it has been dubbed, cancelled the midterms many of us were suppose to take.  This was a great opportunity for those who could not find time to study as much as we wanted to.  If you are behind on homework, studying, or writing that essay, take advantage of the snow day and get caught up or even get ahead!
  2.  Participate in the campus wide snowball fight!  My sources tell me that on the first night it snowed there was a huge snowball fight going on around campus.  Everyone says that college is the best time of your life. Use this opportunity to create memories that will last a lifetime!  Plus, who does not like a good snowball fight between friends?  If that person is you, make a snowman. Perhaps he will like warm hugs and bring joy to all who see him.
  3. Don’t forget the bread and milk during the last pre-snow grocery trip! Without these two ingredients you can not make the famous North Carolina milk sandwich!  As a local, we were taught growing up that you always go buy bread and milk when it snows, both of which perish quickly.  It is rare to get a good snow North Carolina, those of you come from snow prone areas might be use to the frozen substance, however, North Carolina responds by shutting most things down so you better stock up on things you need while you still can!
  4. Two words: SNOW CREAM!  Snow cream is a sweet dessert, similar to ice cream, that you make by adding vanilla extract, sweetened condensed milk, regular milk, and sugar to freshly fallen snow. This sweet goodness can only be made when it snows, for obvious reasons.  While some major ice cream brands have tried to reproduce it without snow, the only true way to eat snow cream is to make it yourself; it is so simple to make anyway.
  5.  HAVE FUN! Here in North Carolina we might not know what to do about work and school when it snows, but we sure know how to have fun in it.  Try making some snow cream or sledding with a makeshift sled–they are usually the best.  Snow in North Carolina is a blessing and a curse wrapped into one because everything starts shutting down but it is an excellent time to make memories with your friends.
